Welcome to the TOTA gamer thread, it was suggested to make a gamer thread back when I made the Final Fantasy XIII thread I just haven't gotten around to it.
So this is were we can post our reviews of games, games were looking forward too and anything else game related. Feel free to add anything you wish to the thread that is on topic.
So I'll start with the most recent games I beat ....

I have recently played through Alan Wake for the the 360 and i have to say I am really impressed with this game. Being a fan of the horror genera this game was really well made in a Resident Evil/Silent Hill style of a game. It has a story that keeps you wanting to play more that moves along rather well the battle system is well thought of and interesting with lots of enemies and battles. The game was a little easy firth run through in my opinion with lots of ammo and items find. The game play graphics are really well made with large environments to explore. I think the cinematic could have used a little more attention as the graphics in some cut scenes are not the best and i hated how often you loose your entire inventory to have to find all your weapons one by one. Overall I did really enjoy this game 8.5/10

With the world cup just around the corner EA has released 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa. Being a huge fan of football games I did check it out and boy was i ever let down. Having played FIFA 2010 for a long time this game is nothing but a cash cow. Game play is the same as FIFA 10, there are less modes, the graphics are much worse and being a world cup edition there are only international teams available. In my opinion this is not worth getting just buy FIFA 10 or wait till 11 rolls out because you can still play the world teams in those and you get a lot more features. 5/10

This is another game i was really impressed with! Metro takes place in the year 2033 after a nuclear war in Moscow Russia. The story in the game is based on a book by the same title so it has a lot of twists and turns and moves along rather well. Graphics are amazing with great detail to characters and well detailed features to the empowerment and other characters. Controls are classic FPS nothing to complain about. The fall downs were some of the game was a little cheese and predictable and there is no multiplayer option. Overall I would recommend this game as it is really good with a multiplayer co-op or DM modes it could have been a 10. 8.5/10 |

It's going to have the same ty AI, and collision detection that the last 4 have had. Do yourself a favour and get a real racing sim like Forza. Or anything made by Code Masters.
I loved GT1-3, but after they couldn't get the AI right, and no damage, I gave up on the series. |

Funny you should mention Dead Space ..... I just finished it today :)

So I finally finished this game .... I got it over a year ago and i haven't been able to finish it till now. Not because its super hard (it can be challenging) but it was mainly because of the setting, plot and story in this game. Honestly this is the most frightening game i have played in a long time and I'm horror junkie. The game is also extremely well made with amazing graphics and tones of extras and the ability to customize your character to suit your play style through a variety up weapons and upgrades. This game is truly well made but its so horrific i could only play for short periods of time. I recommend you play this game on a stormy night in the dark when your home alone to get the best effect ;) 9/10 |

| Just started up Red Dead Redemption, and so far its looking really good, played a few rounds of Texas Hold'em, rounded up some outlaws, herd some cattle, lots of stuff to do and the dialogue is pretty decent. |

| I just picked up Uncharted 2 and I have to say I'm a little underwhelmed. It's similar gameplay to Batman Arkham Asylum, and the Dark Knight just did it better. I keep reading these rave reviews about Uncharted 2, but I'm just not feeling it. I feel like evertyhing after Batman and God of War 3 will be a disappointment. Hope I'm wrong. |

I'm finally building a new work station for myself (8 years!), and so I'm going to give Steam a try. The prices seemed right for games, and my buddy told me, the service is uber easy to use.
Anybody have experience with it?
I'm hoping for a linux client soon. |
