Just wondering what are the settings on your turntables, as I have heard varied recommendations.

I.e tone arm weight, antiskate, tone arm height.

I know the tone arm height depends on your slipmats, but surely their can't be much of a difference.

Thanks.

Hi,

My settings:

Height: 5
Weight: 2,5
AS: 1,5

Greetings,

j_spot
your height is @ 5!!!

holy .

my height is @ .5(I use the orignal slipmats that came w/ m3d)
my counter weight is @ 2, and the aux weight is not on.
the AS is also @ 2.

I use nightclub E
Dj Thy
Yup height at 5 (adjust until the bottom side of the plastic is parallel to the platter).

Weight, depends. At home 2.5. On gigs with loud systems, I may go up to 4.5.

Anti skate 0.

Arm height depends on the height of the cartridge (in mm). These are some figures.
15mm 0
16mm 1
17mm 2
18mm 3
19mm 4
20mm 5
21mm 6

Of course if the height is for example 18.5, the tonearm should be set ideally to 3.5.

If I'm not mistaken, Concordes are 20mm.

so basically height should = 5, weight = 2.5 right? shouldn't antiscate be set around 2 or something? Does anyone have the recommended settings for DJ use? (i.e from Ortofon themselves)
Dj Thy
Opinions differ about the anti skate. But most agree that you set the antiskate at the same value as your wheight, when on playing records (not backcueing and so on), and to 0 for djing.

hey totally unrelated but what bout stanton carts? 500ALIIs anyone know the right settnings please?
Milhouse
for stanton 500's I use the following...

height = 1
weight = 3 (it's supposed to be anywhere from 2-5 so it's your call)
antiskate = 3

hope this helps, cheers...

My suggestion is not to read others numbers but to set the height and balance the tonearm and set the anti-skate yourself. Do you know how to?
I have 1210M3D's w/Ortofon Nightclub E
height=1
weight=2.7
anti skate=1.2
I also broke a needle today and am pretty pissed off about it.

One person having a height of 1 and another having 5 doesn't seem right seeing as Ortofon Concordes as very close if not identicle in height.
Slip mats do not vary so much either so I believe someone has set it up incorrectly.
The only thing I believe should vary is antiscate (if not set on 0) and the tonearm weight.
