| gouryella and rank 1 are both class acts and deserve this hype.. didn't liek the original of dreamland tho so i dont like this particualr remix |

My 2 cents:
The reason that everyone are so ecstatic about Ligaya is that Gouryella has been sorely missed ever since Tenshi faded back in 2000.The fact that Ferry returns to the original Gouryella roots on Ligaya(which wasn't clear until now),is very heartwarming for all the people that loved all the previous Gouryella-singles to death.It's what they always wanted.So it's no wonder that the general "OMFG"-vibe is ravaging the forum right now,whether Ligaya deserves it or not.
I think Ligaya is great,tho.Not "legendary" like some people say,I'll agree.But it's still a great production by Ferry,who yet again manages to create another beautiful uplifting gem of a track.Even better is it to hear the old Gouryella-influences shining through.The melody is beautiful,and the build-up is just as energetic as any Gouryella-tune IMHO.It really sparks up some memories.It doesn't seem to have damaged the project too much that Tiesto left.Respect,Ferry!!!You've done well.
As for the Nu NRG-remix:I never thought too much of the original,it was just an ordinary trance track to me.The Rank 1 Remix sounds (from what little I've heard) nice,the synths have more punch,and the whole soundscape of the track is more uplifting than the original.Sounds good,I'm looking forward to hearing it in full.
But basically,this whole discussion is just another case of don't believe the hype/join the bandwagon debate that ALWAYS surfaces when a big track is premiered,which is really sad,because it always makes people base their opinion on the hype instead of the qualities of the track.(be it ecstatic praise or "politically correct" hype resistance,*cough*Southern Sun*cough*) |

Secondly, I think you should forget about the Hype.
So Tiesto left gouryella, 1 player down doesn't make a team, Imagine if it was ferry who'd left, could tiesto keep that gouryella sound on his own ? I don't think he would, he's moved on from making that kind of tune now, so so be it, Ferry is the god of bringing music thats original, uplifting, sad & Everything else. This tune is awesome, and when the ppl who're just hyping it for the crack move onto something else, the true fans will still be listening, I love the tune, and I dont care who made it, ferry, chris liebing, one of them wank garage acts, this tune is great
The rank 1 re-edit is something I'm undecided on, I've had a couple of listens, and when u love the original so much its hard to let a new one in.:D |
