Anybody use this? Any thoughts/tips? Any specific versions that are best for PC? From what gather, it was made by the designers of Logic and then abandoned. I am wanting it to control my Korg TR-Rack along with a MIDI controller template I'm currently constructing with my Novation SL 49.
Danke ya :) |

wasn't it scrapped after Apple acquired Emagic 5 years ago or so. |

I tried the SoundDiver demo for one of my synths years ago and, yeah, it was very buggy. Have you checked out the SoundTower TR Editor?
http://www.soundtower.com/tr/index.htm
Not sure if it will work for you particular model, but worth checking into. I've used SoundTower editors/librarians for several synths (DSI, Moog, Kurzweil, Roland, etc.) and they're very good, easy to use, and stable. |

there is something called TriNitro for the TR rack, but it didnt seem to work. Does the sound module have to be interfaced with both a midi in and out for programs like this or is a midi in sufficient? |

I'm not familiar with TriNitro, but yes, most software editors need to have both the MIDI OUT and IN connected in order to work properly and completely. The MIDI OUT on the synth will allow the software to receive updated patch settings, etc. FROM the synth, whereas the MIDI IN will allow transmission of patch and parameter data TO the synth. |

Loved it. Best hardware library/patch development software I've ever used, despite it's faults.
Have never quite found anything close to replacing it.
Open to suggestions... But not MidiQuest... That things a ing joke.

v3.05.2 was the last on PC if I remember right.
Hunt around, you should be able to find a copy, it was abandoned.
Tip: Watch out for the intro/splash sound. :stongue:

Correct. It was made by Emagic, who made Logic.
When Apple took over Emagic, Logic stopped being developed for PC. v5.5 was the last version.
Sounddiver devlopment got scrapped as well, both on PC and Mac for some reason.
Wish they made a new version... I think there was a beta once upon a time.
I'd buy a new OSX version. |

I also can not stand MIDI quest. I have a cracked copy of SoundDiver (can you even buy this anymore?) and I only use it for my Andromeda and Waldorf XT. It's not good at all for editing the patches, but I do use it as a librarian for sorting the patches alphabetically. |
