Born in Hong Kong, but raised in Toronto, Stuart Li a.k.a. Basic Soul Unit was heavily influenced in the era of warehouse parties, parties which fuelled the Toronto scene of the early 90s and which introduced a whole range of sounds descending from the international house and techno scene. Through releases on New Kanada, Philpot, Versatile, Mule Electronic and Mathematics Recordings among others, Li has put forward his own vision of future minded music, melding the blueprints of Chicago and Detroit.

Born and raised in Detroit during the evolution and birth of the first wave of techno, Antwon Faulkner a.k.a. Twonz has played an integral role in shaping the sound of that city for over twenty years as both a dj and producer. Running the acclaimed Highjacked Records label, Twonz continues to hone a style of futurist music that remains grounded in the recognition of science-fiction not as a distant prophecy, but grounded in the materiality and means of the present moment.
