He wouldn't be the only one interested in that one ;).
pE 049 is another of wicked set Michael! I might sound like a broken record when I give you any feedback, but that is because you are so consistent! Good tracks and fantastic mixing as always. Thanks mate!
I bet it's a bit of a relief being home after spending so much time in Cali. Nice to have you home again here at TA!!
Cheers,

Am about 8 tracks in and am seriously impressed! Your mixes are consistently excellent but this one is up there. :eyes:
I hope the remainder is as good as the beginning! :) |

Thanks Michael! As I've said in your other threads I cannot comment on the technical aspects of your mixes but feel you pulled off another great mix here.
I've heard 'Cyacya' a few times and loved it but thought the mating of it to 'Dancing In Dark Rooms' was excellent, added a new dimension to it, and it worked nicely with the Human 8 track later on too.
On a general note I find it interesting how you've steered me towards different musical tastes over the last few years, and based on how your mixes went I independently came across Michael & Levan and Loquai fairly recently. I then begin to see their productions pop up in your mixes!:)
Whilst your pE mixes don't get as many hits or responses as others on here they are all of an extremely high standard and your early mixes sound as fresh today as they did back in '06 when I first came across them!:) |

There are several remixes of 'Cyacya' so what is your favorite remix?
Well it's very interesting so far to make reworks/edits with traktor live.
Anyway thanks for your detailed feedback. It's a pleasure! :) |

Michael,
Thanks a lot mate for upping pE 048 for us all. That was yet another awesome set. One of my favorites I think? Really like this track at about 40:00, which I think is a remix of a track you've used before...?
Much appreciate your work, as always, and thanks again for sharing this one!
Cheers,

I listen to those early mixes very often and would be hard pressed to say when they were made. I'm as happy listening to Michael's stuff now as I was back in 2005 when I first heard his Progressive Elements shows. I've got more DJ M.P. sets than I have for any other DJ, and they get played quite heavily, for a damned good reason too. They're GOOD!!
Michael, have you ever considered a "Best of Progressive Elements" type show/set? One where you'd play only your favorite tracks from the last 5-6 years of pE shows you've been sharingwith us?

The track around 40 minutes is called "Where Are You Now" by Behrouz and was released on Global Underground. There is and there was no remix of that track so maybe I played a similar track.

Quite good idea but it's very hard for me to choose the best tracks from 49 shows (btw. the upcoming 50th show will be broadcasted on sunday). You also have to consider that I have only 2 hours on globalbeats every month.
I agree to a compromise : YOU guys choose the best tracks from the past 49 shows (and maybe the upcoming 50th show) and then I'll make a selection.
What do you say? ;) |
