Hey lads,

Sorry I'm only getting back to you now.

Thanks a million for all the votes of support although that's not why i created this thread.

I really just thought it would be a nice idea to see who's out there. Some people don't post too often but are lurching in the background having a read of everything.

While i know it has been a little slower in here later I think it just goes through phases. A while back the booth was absolutely dead. Nothing happened here for days sometimes but then we went through a busy phase. As a lot of you have said, it's hard to keep coming up with new topics of conversation in here but every now and again a nice thread pops along that gets everyone involved.

Nem's at the moment for instance and also Stu Cox's off the top of my head.

Anyway, the whole merging thing wont happen as i think it works quite well the way it is. Yes there is definitely a crossover but in the end of the day they are both two very different animals and although there are many people out there who dj and produce the figure doesn't really justify making all the others trundle through thread after thread which they have no real interest in.

If you guys ever have any questions or suggestion please feel free to suggest/ask me anything. If you want me to sort any spam out that I might have missed etc also don't hesitate to lob up a thread/send me a pm, pointing me in the right direction.

Cheers again,
See you all around the Booth.

Hey n3lly,

You are doing a good job no doubt about it.

Like many here I don't think merging the two forums would be a good idea.

That said there is room for a crossover feature.

i.e. Producers are always reliant on DJs to play their productions. Why not have some form of forum where the DJ booth can assign a score to a track to see if it has playability or not.

Just a thought. Not sure how workable it is or how objective people could be though.

Cheers

Something we might be able to work on is crossing over a thread.

If someone is looking for advice on something from both forums they could request that i link/copy the thread over to the production forum as well. That way the thread will get answers from both subforums.

Not sure how the 'people above' would feel about it. But it is an idea.

Obviously it wouldn't be implemented on every thread but where it makes sense it might work well.

Thanks again for the support btw.

maybe a check-button "show in both forums" when creating a thread?

What you should try to do is some sort of crossover type of thread. That way people in the production forum can share their productions with djs to see if their tracks are worth playing out.

Not sure if anyone else is down.

19503, i like that idea. As long as it wasn't abused. Whether or not something like that could be easily implemented is another question.

I'll suggest it in 'The inner circle' though :)

Ted i see where you're coming from but the only thing i would say is that productions/finished products would be better off demo'd in the Music producers promotion.

I don't think people would want opinion threads on tracks popping up in the booth.

Although i see the benefit of actual dj's commenting on the tunes as well as producers (who might be a little more critical) than the average dj/normal punter who don't produce.

some sort of score on promoted tracks and dj sets would be cool too. now i only download the mixes that got most replies, i feel i miss alot of good stuff this way. if all the users could vote 0-9 points on the threads in promotion forums it would be cool.

I'm with you on that one. Some sort of score in terms of if it would receive potential air play or not for example.

Although could be awkward if the DJs in the booth don't spin a certain type of music, that said I do think although this is TA it actually has a wider audience than just us trance geeks.

Nice to see the creative thinking is in full swing.

Cheers

As for the crossover threads thing... that's difficult to implement.

The rating of mixes/productions is something I'll think about -- my main concern with anything of the sort is the spam factor...

Wow... I definitely would have, if I didn't think it was intentional.

Thanks!
