:conf: :whip:

Was money really that bad?

The rumours all start from some of Ben Watt's tweets earlier today..

@buzzin_fly i am told BOTH matter AND fabric have gone into administration

@buzzin_fly all fabric and matter staff have been made redundant

And this latest tweet...

@buzzin_fly i seem to have upset some people revealing news that i thought others knew. it was not my intention. apologies.

Matter closed last week for the summer to pay off some bills and the owners concentrate on Fabric and it's revenues...

Also, LMAO :haha: at some of the MDMA/Pills/Drugs posts in the RA thread lol... espeically the one about where it would be sold if Fabric closed, and the people who think the MDMA drought in UK was a direct cause!

I know it's just a thread on RA, but looked around and didn't find to much more about it... just a bunch more forums with various threads mummering and going on about it.

FACEBOOK GROUP - Save Fabric (and Matter) from closure

I tried to go a couple years back when I was in the UK for a wedding, but it was just a 4 day trip, and when I had a night to myself on Sunday, both Fabric and The End were closed, only saw the outside :( Now i'm worried that I'll never get a chance to see or experience it

Sorry to jack the thread, but I also read that Ministry of Sound might be closing as well

fabric better not in' close, I was planning on hitting it up this summer. that would be devastating to my list of clubbing accolades.

If Matter does as good on a regular basis as it did the night I was there, I don't understand how they are bankrupt. The place was rammed and it's a pretty huge venue, cap.2600. And they make loads of money off drinking, as you can drink ALLLLLL night, until the club is closed.

If BOTH clubs are in jeopardy, sounds like a case of bad business entities.

Fabric closing would be a real hit to the clubbing world for anyone who likes to travel and go to clubs... or for an UK partiers at that. Such an incredible club. I've only been once and it was such an amazing experience.

I really hope this news isn't true as I would like to go back just one more time... to see Digweed behind the decks....

Didn't Sydney Blu just get a booking there in Sept? Hope it's not closing too...

The night you were there was for Sven Vath, so it was a special event. Not many DJs draw a bigger crowd than him.

Matter is apparently £3,000,000 in debt because it loses money on most nights, and the owners have used Fabric as collateral.

I really, really hope this doesn't happen. Fabric is an incredible club. In fact, in all my travels, I haven't seen a single club that rivals it.

have you been to berlin or barcelona? plenty of clubs better than fabric in my opinion... the crowd in fabric is really really bad!

I thought Fabric had been overrated for the last 2 years - plus the crowd got insanely young + douche (american tourists ftl)

that said, it's still my favourite club of all time... I've seen sasha, digweed, villalobos, hawtin, burridge ETC flip that place upside down...

RIP? :(

I agree, the crowd at Fabric is horrible (as Jon said, very young, and pretty much all tourists).

I went to Fabric for my first and possibly only time last June. I could def. tell that is should have been busier than it was. The recession hit the UK way harder than it hit us, and last year, it was evident that it was affecting the club in a pretty big way. It was FAR from rammed. It would def. be extremely sad to see it close its doors! That would be pretty ed up actually.... :(

If this is true then the owners are insane.
