Heya folks,
I have also posted this in the DJBooth but it's also relevant here.
I have been given the opportunity to do a regular radio show every Friday night between 22:00 to 24:00.
I start this Friday and you can listen if you like on http://radiofreebrighton.org.uk/
It’s basically a streaming station and is primarily aimed at local peeps in Brighton, but I have the go ahead to try and generate global interest.
Apart from the shameless promotion that I am doing for it right now, I want to get you guys involved and you could in turn use this as a platform to promote yourselves a little too. Let me explain.
What I would like to see happen is that I can feature a 40 to 60 minute set from some of you guys on the show. Yes I know it’s me being a bit lazy as I could mix the whole two hours and indeed I will be this Friday. I would do the usual bits i.e. present you to the audience etc. and give credit, give the names of the tracks at suitable moments and so on.
I am basically looking for 4 to the floor style dance music ranging from breaks, house through to trance and techno and would be more than willing to showcase you guys on there. I’m not approaching any other forums with this, I know this community and feel that this is where I want to focus my attention.
I would very much like to have a 3 deck mix from Stu Cox and a set from Tony Morello so if you see this then it would be awesome if you could oblige. But not limited to these guys, as I said this is meant to be an opportunity for all of you.
I still don’t have a name for the show so if anyone had any cool suggestions that would also be splendid. And likewise any suggestions with regards to what you would like to hear on there that would also be cool. I have relatively free reigns on this baby so if it’s a good idea I don’t see why it can’t be done.
I have long toyed with this idea but not really had the outlet for it and now it has finally come.
Likewise, I am also interested in your productions and there will be a few on there on Friday night from the production forum.
If you have a production you want to hear in the mix and be played on air then I will be happy to oblige. I do however reserve the right to judge if the track will fit in, so please don't be offended if I feel that it wouldn't work with what I do. I am fairly easy going but would have to insist that it sounds fairly professional in my ears in terms of playing it out to the masses. That said I want to give you guys as much support as possible and I am enthusiastic about the idea of getting you involved.
Please refrain from starting flame wars on this thread if that’s OK, this is s serious suggestion and there is no financial gain in this for myself, this is a volunteer based station. It just seem like a cool thing to do.

You're welcome to use my track 'Shimmer' if it fits in with the set (it's been on t'net radio before) but no biggie if it ain't what you're looking for!

edit - I also know of a kid down in Worthing (he's 15 or 16 I think) who'd probably flip at the chance of getting on a net radio play. He's not here but over at Anjuna, the reason I mention it is because he's kind of local to you. This might work?

My track is somewhat of an acquired taste though, your mind really has to be in 1999 :p
As an ex Brighton and Worthing resident myself I feel obliged to help out if I can :D |

Yeah, I know, kinda clashes with clubland, I would have prefered 9pm to 11pm or even a bit earlier but it's what I have to work with.
