hamptons or fire island summer share

has anyone here done those deals where you pay a certain amount of money to get to stay in a house in the hamptons or on fire island for a couple weekends with a bunch of other people? i'm talking abt stuff like whats offerred at davidshapiro.net, never done it myself but have been thinking of maybe trying it out for a couple weekends this summer.
if you've done it, was it fun? what are the people like, did you make any friends? is it a good party scene??

Did this in Avalon, NJ for about 6 years. Best years of my life..
House was on the bay with a nice boat slip, so got to wake board (early years of it) every night...Id go for it, even if you dont know the people...
PS: if you have hot chicks, Ill chip in..lol |

| Hamptons is more of ritzy place then Fire Island. The Hamptons has a few clubs around the area. But if you would rather just be on a nice basically privite beach walking distance from your house with a couple nice bars and resturants with live bands or djs i would go to fire island. Fire Island is def more relaxin |

| I know a ton of kids that went to Syracuse who do this every summer... then again, i think some of their parents just outright own the places. But a lot rent out like an 8 bedroom place for the week or a weekend or whatever. Supposed to be really posh and def big ballin. if u got the money do it for sure. |

oh no theres no way im gonna rent out an entire 8 bedroom house just for myself...its one of those deals where a bunch of people, who dont necessarily know one another, pay some guy to be able to stay in one of these houses for a few weekends (not during the week, just on the weekends)...typically works out to about $300 per weekend but if you buy more weekends then you get better deals |
