old guy you've never met and have no personal connection to dies. Whats the big deal?

honestly, this and Gary Colemen and all of the death threads whenever a celebrity dies. Whats the big deal? Its not going to affect your life in the slightest. What they've done has been done and thats still there for you to enjoy, its not going to disappear because they died. Yes he made osme great movies like Easy Rider, but you'll always be able to watch them.

Old people die, especially when they have prostate cancer. This isn't a shock.

Unfortunately, he didn't give me many points in my death pool.

I doubt any of the people in this thread genuinely "mourn". What such threads are rather about, is a moment of reflection upon an artist's work, a final display of appreciation, sharing some thoughts on favorite acts and moments etc. You know, people usually have a few actors, writers, musicians etc. they have admired and whose death triggers the memory of why they have done so. Surely nothing wrong about that, is there?

Edit: FVCKER!!

He had wisdom? Bull, man! And am I gonna be the one that's gonna set them straight? Look at me! Look at me! Wrong!"

zOMG! Yes! I am such an Apocalypse Now fanboy it's ridiculous - The music soundtrack was dedicated to Robert Moog.

If there's an afterlife, he's probably settling things up with Brando for throwing fruit at him and calling him a "mutt" during Brando's reading of T.S. Elliot's "Hollow Men". Hopper's reaction, however real, was also genius and Coppola kept it.

Is there a single line of that film that isn't a brilliant quote? Definitely what I'll remember Hopper for.
