Entry level studio monitors for under $500 USD suggestions?

Hi All,
I'd like to finally give producing a shot. Can anyone recommend inexpensive, starter studio monitors, like some common ones?
Also, are there any acceptable in-ear ones? |

If that is the case, I think most people here will recommend the AKG K240S, for ~$100 they're probably the best in that price range.
I would not buy in-ear headphones, I've found that every pair I try sounds disgusting. |

oh hah, that's what i get for not reading the whole thing. if so, then i have audio technica ath-m45s and they sound god-like. $150 i think. i didn't even know they had headphopnes for $500+...
...are you sure he meant headphones? i'm still convinced he's talking about monitors :nervous: |

I'm asking about studio monitors, like the ones to accurately replay sounds.
The second question was asking if any there are any headphones or earphones suitable for production. I have no idea if that exists or not or if the definition of studio monitors excludes them. |

Go to the store, look and listen to the ones in your price range and let your ears decide by listening to tracks you know very well.
