sounds like they used some classical sample packs i doubt they were made.

check up on native instruments they offer a very wide array of samples

It's either a single velocity sensitive sample rolled on a keyboard or MIDI or it could be a ready made hold and rolled crescendo. Kontakt has plenty of Timpani samples included.


edit - I did this one in Kontakt and just hammered it out on the keyboard and edited the velocities afterwards.

That's a Timpani and Piatti crescendo. There are orchestral sample libraries that incorporate this (e.g. the one that's been mentioned), but they usually cost roughly 500$-1000$, so probably not worth it if you're really just looking for one sample.
Maybe you'll get lucky while browsing the web and get some decent quality free samples, now that you know the specific term to describe it.
