Protoculture, the most sonically recognizable South African DJ and Producer is ready to launch his musical career to even greater heights with his brand-spanking-new third album, "Love Technology". Available from most online music stores such as; BeatPort, SaikoSounds, Psyshop, iTunes and Juno Download. 'Love Technology' features the undeniable melodic prowess as well as deeper side to the man who has brought countless dancefloors to the highest moments of euphoric bliss. The tracks range from uplifting high energy psychedelic beats to the moodier tech-trance, and the feedback already has been massive. _The melodic influence of late 90's progressive trance is very evident in much of the album, especially in the powerful remake of Binary Finary's classic '1998', but where we can really see the new more mature direction he is headed is in tracks like 'Naked' and 'Midnight Mass' where he slows it all right down and lets the groove take control. _
As the Protoculture sound moves into deeper groovier realms it is evident where the next step is for him, and with recent support from the likes of Armin van Buuren, Markus Schulz, who have both featured his tracks on their online radio shows (“Naked” featured on Armin van Buuren’s A State of Trance Radio show 2 weeks in a row and Tune of the week (9-15 May) on Markus Shulz Podcast.), there is a definite winner of an album waiting for you.

This album is definitely still "genuine" Protoculture and pretty decent, but it doesn't hold a flame to Circadians or Refractions.
The first track is quite cool but a bit generic.
Naked would be good were it not poorly trying to be tech-house.
Love Technology itself is pretty good.
Big Blue is really ing awesome. Simple yet effective with a very hypnotic quality and a catchy hook.
Euphoric Recall is again a bit generic, though still cool.
Impala is probably closest to Nate's older style, and the track I like the most. It's got euphoric builds and breaks without being cheesy.
Stars Of Sanbona is again a bit more similar to previous work and reasonably cool.
The 1999 remix is a good update which I'll listen to a bit.
The final track, Midnight Mass is another slower, tech-house attempt which comes off a bit better than Naked but is still a bit token. |

After a few more listens, I've encountered another reason why this album isn't as good as the previous two: it feels like a random collection of tracks rather than a purposeful attempt at a whole.
While it was perhaps a little overdone, I really like the space/robot theme which Circadians pursued. In particular, the samples in Terra Tronics: "I think I've found the map alluded to on one of the tablets..." The whole album had a great flow from track to track, and the same could be said for Refractions. |

| I enjoyed this. Decent album but it could do with less Jerome Isma-ae copy (Naked) and that tech house crap (Midnight Mass). |
