I've just finished reading 'Altered State' by matthew Collin. Its all about the rise of acid house in the late 80s, the emergence of the Ibiza scene, then the birth of jungle etc etc - brilliant book.

anyway im wondering if anyone can recommend any decent books about Trance? Would love to read a bit more into the early days of trance music and its journey.

Any ideas?

That's a good book.

Try Last Night a DJ Saved my Life. It's more house than trance related, but you may find it interesting.

Not trance, but Last Night A DJ Saved My Life is a fantastic book covering the evolution of the DJ.

I am reading one called Tranceformation or something. It's someone's doctoral thesis I think. It's interesting, relating trance to religious experiences etc.

Will check it
