I know it has been asked often but...travelling to Amsterdam

My gf and I are in Amsterdam over the next few days, particularily the weekend. We would definitely like to check out some local scenes, something big, as well as relaxed, more intimate venues.
Any advice or suggestions would be appreciated since I know many TOTAs have visited in the past. |

When I was there we mainly went to big outdoor events. The only club in Amsterdam we went to was Escape. Cool place, but the music that night sucked.
Go to the Jolly Joker coffeeshop up in Nieuwmarkt and get some Jack Herer. Get some drinks, some cheese, meat and bread, and go to Vondelpark on a really nice day and chill out there. |

im sure theres something better then jack herer, its not THAT great....

I found it different at each shop. From Jolly Joker it was the best I had the whole time there. |

Anyone who has not been...I suggest you plan it in your future. The place certainly is a spectacle to behold. Yesterday the weather was very sunny and warm, and Vondelpark was just packed, for the entire length of the park. |

Also, make helmets out of lettuce. You will DEFINITELY need them |
