Yeah, I've actually had a few minutes to catch my breath this morning, so, of course, I wasted it talking about synths. :o

But, if I may be serious for a moment, Discovery Pro is actually a very nice soft synth IMO, but I've never been enticed enough to buy it. While, yes, it is modeled on the Nord and it will load its patches, it really just feels like another run-of-the-mill subtractive soft synth to me. Also, I've A/B'ed the sounds between Discovery Pro and an actual NL2X and they don't sound exactly alike - close enough for most purposes, yes, but not the same. Just an FYI.

I seem to recall seeing an A/B comparison between the two on the Tube somewhere.

I know somebody who's got a Lead 2X not far from me so I might do a few exact comparisons meself at some point.

Last time I looked at the Nords they were considerably more expensive iirc so it's definately worth a look.

One of the classics. I have the Original Nord 2 which I think is the same minus the extra memory. But alas, as people have mentioned, it is easily replicated with other synths. I did find it to be extremely dry and raw which I love in a synth.

I'll pick one up as soon as it drops below AUD$1000.

I've just noticed the Tetra is only £470.

Shame it looks like such a pain to program. It's making me look upwards at the Prophet 08 at £999

What's GAS? I know I should be able to figure it out and that G likely stands for Gear but... :sadgreen:

Gear Acquisition Syndrome.

Mine's currently in remission.

I constantly struggle with mine, however, mine is less concentrated on synthesizers and more about signal processors of one kind or another.

I get my six month chip, today! I got SONAR a while back but that was my last gear purchase, and it was software so it doesn't count, really, *nervous laughter* and even though it's been a HARD six months, I feel like I'm making real progress.
