Will I be hassled at the door for wearing my usual attire? (meaning: sneakers, not tennis shoes, t-shirt, and jeans)

Yes.

I've worn my NB walking shoes (NOT trainers) to pretty much every show I've been to in the last 2+ years (yeah, they're a well worn pair), which includes places like Cielo in NYC, Space in Miami, and even ing Tounge and Groove last Friday night. In 2+ years I've NEVER been questioned about my shoes, not once--except at Opera for Joris Voorn. Despite having a presale in hand and a supposed "relaxed" dress code, the asswipe at the door tried to charge me $40 to enter because I was wearing sneakers. After arguing with him for a minute he decided to drop the entry price (read: bribe) to $10. After pointing out for the 100th that I had already bought and paid for my ticket and that I wasn't going to pay his ing bribe, he finally let me in after holding the line up for 5-6 minutes arguing with me.

Wow, I also wear NB shoes. Makes me a little worried. I've worn them everytime I've been to Opera, but that makes me wonder if there is a possibility of being hassled. I usually just wear jeans, tennis shoes, and a collared shirt. Hope they aren't starting to crack down on dress code. It has been almost a year since I've been there.

Devin is a part of Opera's marketing crew now. He has been for a while.

That was more of a rhetorical question.

This only further motivates me to get the wheels moving on a couple of things down there.

Please do. There are probably plenty of people around here willing to help out as well. I'm sure you know a few yourself.
