i have a feeling the moog is a bit too 'in your face' but idk, was done on mdr7506's

The mix isn't cohesive enough by a long shot...

Also sounds pretty muddy on my phones... Needs more 2k, especially on the vocals and stuff. I think the overall arrangement is a serious problem actually. I'd get a more regular bassline going on, the current one sounds scrappy. I'd loop it. Maybe a rhodes loop might help too. That oughta bring the moog back into the overall mix too. at the moment its just a bass, drums and some slightly dodgy vocals. Sounds too noodly and not songy enough if you know what I mean.

Sorry, I like this style of music, but this one aint doing it for me... I like the snare though:gsmile:

the bass is a bit up in ya face but it all seems good to me well done fella

IMO it could do with a bit more depth, sounds a bit 2D, but maybe thats the sound you are going for with this mix, other than it sounds spot on to me

Maybe have a listen to some Mike Simionetti re-edits, or even some Todd Terje... I think that might give you some clues as to structure...

Personally, I liked it. I posted down in the MPPF about it.

You need to use compressors more. Especially the drums and bass would benefit from at least some form. Don't leave it till mastering to take care of that, but compress things in the mix when they're sounding too dynamic (as in your case). The kick also has a fair bit of sub you might consider rolling off, and the bass is slightly on the loud (as in prominent) side, but otherwise everything sounds so thin. Even the vocals could do with a good amount of compression. The treble instruments could also do with a boost. It's a shame you only have one day because this could sound so much better.

ya a lot more work was done to it. comparing this one to the one currently posted it sounds in my opinion 10 times better and full. btw, i didn't make this track, i was simply asked to submit some demos of mixes done to the original recordings

thanks fellas. not looking at the session now, there are only 5 or so in that one i posted that had compressors. did much more compression and eq'ing on the rest

there is a nasty hum on one of your channels, I think it is the guitar.Surprised no one mentioned this as it is by far the biggest issue. There are some crackles here in there. 3 I think I heard. The drums could use some stereo imaging. There is a click like sound that is backing up your clap at the beginning that is rather bothersome as it really throttles some compressor. It is strange because it disappears and doesn't come back. Just take it out altogether. Think the clap could use an actual snare with a more humanized beat with ghost notes and such. The crash needs some compression. Not sure what kit you are using but try to squash the overheads mixing the direct sound in parallel.
