even still, since when is border crossing punishable by death? exactly what is the child doing that warrants being shot? :conf:
I don't disagree and I'm not going to take a strong stance on a story that I am not well-informed on. I sense there is more to this than we are being told.

the kid did up...in its simplest form.
its unfortunate the dude died but ..if ur going to threaten an agent with bodily harm expect to be treated as just that...a threat
a few months back, Americans were killed in Juarez...you think any one in Juarez cared about that? nope

They were minors. Their behaviour was a little immature - but they also were still a little immature. I've taught people around their age, and kids will act up because they think its cool (and it is for them) they don't see the same seriousness, and often don't fully grasp potentials that more experienced adults might. Whether you like it or not - it was the border agent who was enforcing artificial laws, that the youth likely didn't understand the seriousness of.
A universal human right is right of mobility - borders obfuscate and infringe on that right. So in terms of "immature" it is the US government being immature for killing people for exercising their right to freedom of movement and mobility. It is the US government that enforced militancy, by abducting one of that kids friends - although under premise of mental archtype - that is by creating mental process which heads to a law enforcement officers request to submit to their command. That person being arrested subjected themselves to the officer - the other kid seemingly felt the need to respond with physical force. The officer then did the same type of behaviour that they saw as "wrong". Two wrongs don't make a right, they make two wrongs.
If you want to blame the parents for neglect I would blame the state for infringing human rights.
LOL, the kid was exercising his right to freedom and mobility!? The kid was just being a dumbass, plain and simple. This has nothing to do with human rights. Maybe if the Mexican police or border guards were doing their jobs, the American border patrol wouldn't have to do it for them? The border patrol are routinely shot at and pelted with hard objects so I am not surprised that this one agent overreacted.

LOL, those corrupt, drug lord serving cops don't have any room to talk. No wonder the Mexican government has to resort to sending in 5000 soldiers to Juarez to do their police work for them. And even they fail.
yukii
Chairman Meow - If the Mexican police/gov is so corrupt and they weren't doing their jobs in the first place, and the kid has nothing better else to do than stupid (as does every other kid [not just Mexican] when they aren't scrutinized/whipped by their mom/dad- which i think this can apply to almost anyone) what do you expect?

If your buddy was gonna get caught by the police you wouldn't try helping them? (Even if you're the one that's at fault)- No they were throwing rocks but it's not like they pulled out their in assault rifle, they were simply throwing rocks so that the border patrol could let go of their friend

My thought..
Meow, I think your judgement is too harsh..yes, a kid was ing around, but he loses his life for that? How many times have YOU ed around before when you were 18~ yrs old? He was ing around and was at the wrong place and the wrong time..

if one of my buddies got caught not EVER would i throw rocks at the authorities so they can 'let go of my friend'...that was not their intention..clearly the kids were just being in dumb and disrespectful ..i respect the law...regardless where the i am. i once spent 12 hours in a juarez jail for something i didnt do..not once did i resist or try to disrespect the cops....
i just dont go around breaking the law
im ing glad i had parents that actually looked out for me and cared for me. i dont know what his situation was with his parents but clearly he wasnt raised to respect authorities.

Lol, don't worry, I think we can have a good debate without getting upset ;) not like I'll break up with nathan today haha.
What upsets me is that because a kid (like all kids) was ing around, and because his friends were trying to help him by throwing rocks to the agent, he gets killed. I just don't think it's fair AT ALL.
e- This kinda reminds me of the Nazi era when people would try jumping the fence and would get shot. Are we still that in primitive?
The kid was a BOY who would dare take the life of a child? Even at your 20's you do stupid bc you still haven't learned/matured enough.. Who would take the life of a child over ing around and rocks????
My dad thinks the officer has a mental problem and my mom was so pissed off she wanted to go to the police deparment. Btw Nathan, my mom has it all stored up for you tonight :stongue:

I did say the border patrol was too harsh. Yea, I may have ed around when I was 18, but it wasn't with law enforcement. I wasn't throwing rocks at passing police cars or jumping into restricted areas where I know there are people with guns guarding the area. Sorry if I have no sympathy. Maybe the other kids will think twice about "playing" at the border.

One shouldn't play around when you know what the consequences may be and even more when the person you are ing with has a more deadly weapon than simple rocks.
My bet is that the BP officer got in very bad mood because was being thrown rocks at and he just simply wanted to end it for good.
