Hey guys,
Can anyone tell me the best technique to change a sample that is of a chord into a single note?
I'm trying to change a slide guitar chord where it sounds like its one pitch. I tried taking out the other frequencies using the equalizer but it changes the nature and the sonority of the sound.
If anyone has any tips on this and any advice on altering samples I'd appreciate it. |

mmm tryed with filters? probably the same result thatn with EQs but it's an idea. But i think this is not possible, difficult to explain this but if the chord is 3 notes: (A,B,C)
The sound of all of them is something like
CCCBCCCBCCC
CCBCBCBCBCC
BBBCBBABBAB
AABAABAABAA
AAAABAAAABA
you've that note in different frequencies i think so when you try to kill the upper one you're killing some parts of the following. |

That's pretty much what I'm thinking. I'm a newb so it's worth asking.

| Melodyne DNA can do it, but not necessarily as cleanly as advertisted (i.e., lots of artifacts). Also, the new Melodyne Editor is very buggy and unstable, hence the reason I (and countless others on their forum) have had to formally request a downgrade from Celemony back to our older versions just to have a usable version for typical pitch correction needs. Bottom line is that you'll probably get better, quicker, and cheaper results by trying other options (e.g., find a different sample, record it yourself). |

| Yeah, I've been reading non stop about this new editor. It seems like its on the edge of revolutionary if it can reproduce the quality of how the older versions processed monophonic sounds. Unfortunately I don't have 200 dollars to experiment with at the moment. |
