Love this stuff. Simple, bass driven music with thundering basslines and synths that gets to point. Doesn't take itself to seriosly. If anyone except me wants to contribute, feel free to do so.
Please don't confuse this with this watered down with cheesy 3 minute breakdowns called Nu Style :o

I'm not trying to sarcastic but hardstyle is probably some of the worst music I've ever heard. Also kind of fun that tracks which were produced in as late as 2006 are considored oldskool. Just shows how quickly the went even ier to become the ultimate fest.

Its just a term to distinguish it from the Nu Style stuff that came around at about 2005-2007. You could also call it Earlier Hardstyle or Bass Hardstyle or whatever. Has nothing to do with the music being "oldskool"
Also Hardstyle was allready around in the middle to later 90s.
And its stupid but fun music. (the bass heavy stuff, the Nu-Style is a huge fest, I agree) Kinda like Alphazone, people like it but they don't wan't to admit it :p

My biggest problem with hardstyle are all the stupid samples. "BASS IN YOUR ASS BABY!!!", "I AM YOUR BASS MASTER!!!!!"

There aren't that much samples in the earlier stuff. And its only a few words most of the time per track. Yes, its still stupid, but hey its Dance Music, 90% of the samples/vocals are stupid that doesn't make any sense, so I don't really care.

One of the biggest problems these days is that most producers take their music WAY to serious.
Those cheesy vocal samples were fun, but the new gen of hardstyle producers think that dark rumbling voices are the coolest thing ever.

I guess these are the kinda sample you are talking about. Really horrible :wtf:

Any good hardstyle tracks without ass samples?
Trancefxs
When this track came out Hardstyle probably was not even existing, however it looks to me like this can be a precursor of the genre:
If you look at Tracid Traxx from 2002-2007 you will find tracks that are boarderline between hardtrance and hardstyle and at least don't usually have excessive cheesy melodies and idiotic voice samples (although I could remember badly given the type of music we are talking about :D ).
