Come kickoff Independents Day weekend with EasternMpire as we present to you Colette and DJ Heather and their Second City Sessions Tour 2010.
Colette::: As raves were starting to wind down throughout the nation in the late 90s, Colette was blasting through the "novelty act" so many time. With her disarming doe eyes and heartwarming demeanor, Colette possesses the unmistakable voice of the post-millennial house music. Her sweet-but-sultry voice has been called "angelic" so many times, it's a miracle she hasn't grown wings.
DJ Heather::: Her interest in music was sparked early on by her parents' eclectic music collection. A full spectrum of jazz, blues, rock, soul and folk was part of the Robinson household. With a foundation set, she began to discover her own tastes ranging from the Jackson 5, Chic, Blondie and Kiss. The British New Wave, Ska, Punk the burgeoning Hip Hop and Industrial movements further sparked her enthusiasm for music.
Opening set by DJ Andrew Phelan
Andrew Phelan (pronounced feelin') was raised on Chicago's underground house scene. Influenced early by local jocks such as Derrik Carter, Sneak, Halo and Justin Long. A veteran DJ of over 13 years, Andrew moved to SF in 2001, bringing his smooth, layered mixing style, wide ranging music tastes, and infectious energy behind the decks with him.
