Cost me nothing, well that's not true...I got paid to learn to fly by the RAF whilst at University. Was a real hoot.

Always been interested in aviation and flying, more commercial stuff than military but the latter is still of interest.

Favourite aircraft off the top of my head: Concorde, English Electric Lighting, Avro Vulcan, VC-10...

The Concorde may come back into service....

It won't, trust me on that.

I know people who worked in Concorde Engineering at BA and even getting one flying again will be £100m+ and climbing each year. Between insurance, expertise, certificate of airworthiness and the sheer cost just makes it prohibitive. I think the very best enthusiasts could hope for is an engine run every now and then.

If you've read quotes or press articles from the 'Save Concorde Group', they're a bunch of uninformed clowns.

I haven't read anything by them. I only saw something referencing (this was about 1-2 months ago) that 2 groups were trying to get them tested for airworthiness and all that. I honestly don't think it will happen either, but you never know. The costs of those things are just too ing expensive to justify.

Yeah, one of those groups is Save Concorde Group, the other is a French equivalent.

As you say it's too expensive and they have some real pie in the sky ideas. They treat it as if they'll raise the money doing yard sales
