But nostalgic twenty-somethings are a truly pathetic lifeform.

Because you have no happy memories from childhood and take no joy from life means that you conspire to dismiss any form of childlike happiness in adults as pathetic?

Pot and kettle spring to mind.

So buck up. I think you're probably better off than you think you are. Of course, you're not actually going to realize that until you start seeing better results.

I think things are fine now. I'm in a better position now than I ever was as a teenager. This is my point. I'm 22. Why the would anyone start being nostalgic at 22? If your childhood was the peak of your life, what's the point?

I have plenty of happy memories from childhood. I enjoy thinking of good moments in my life but I don't wallow in the past to provide happiness. The time for nostalgia is at the end of your life when things are drawing to a close. If you're 22 years old and you're already getting misty eyed about being 6 years old then you're wasting your life.

Come on, Jack, you're such a downer. It's Toy Story, it's a classic, let people get excited without calling them idiots.

I'm sure the film itself will be perfectly charming, with witty postmodern references for the parents and reliable character-driven storytelling to delight the kids.

But nostalgic twenty-somethings are a truly pathetic lifeform.

Nobody has said a word about "wallow[ing] in the past to provide happiness" or one's "chilhood [being] the peak of [one's] life". And even if someone did, so ing what? It's a natural aspect of the human condition to remember things that were pleasant and hold them in high esteem. The fact that you don't do so doesn't make you better or worse.

Get off your high horse and off.

Not sure why there wasn't a midnight showing last night or my friend lied to me :whip:

Bull. You can have nostalgia at any point in your in your life - I certainly know I've been through so many stages in my life (and I'm not that much older than you) that you can be retrospective and even nostalgic about it. I miss certain things from my teenage and even kid years - doesn't mean I long to be back there, just some nostalgia for a different time or even place.

And yes, TS3 is going to be a damn good film from what I've seen.

I did. Because, believe it or not, I know a lot of nostalgic twenty-somethings who just can't shut the up about children's cartoons from the early 90s. It's not the first time Maige has acted like this. Back in his Akridot incarnation he made a useless thread about kids today "not getting" what it was like to be young in the early 90s. Ludicrous behaviour. Anyone getting angry at me is clearly feeling more than a pang of self-recognition.

I'd prefer them over bitter twenty-somethings any day.

What's your stance on nostalgic twenty-somethings who just can't shut the up about early 90s Trance or late 90s Progressive?
