Didnt use the search function so if there is a thread with this info, sorry in advance...
Coming to Montreal in August for my brother's bachelor party, either the 13th or 27th, and wanted to know if you guys had any recommendations for clubs other than the after hour spots (Circus & Stereo), house preffered with a decent looking crowd. Went a few years ago and checked out Opera, not sure if that is still around, and had a great time there.
Also, how much is the cab fare from downtown to the Beach Club? Are there any other day parties that are worth it? If we go on the 27th, Piknic will be the day destination, but the linup on the weekend of the 13th looks subpar.
Any dinner recommendations are great as well.
Thanks. |

Every sunday there is a shuttle bus that leaves downtown to beach club at 1pm (corner st-denis & ste-catherine), it is free. It comes back at 8pm.
i think cab fare is around 60-80$ |

Opera no longer it exists it actually only closed just after this past new years. The building got bought out or something I'm not fully in the loop of what the deal is with that. Anyhow if you want good house with a decent looking crowd Karma in the Plateau is good, also Lamouche, downtown off St Catherine isn't bad. Most of the many, many times I have been there it has been good. Lamouche is probably semi comparable to Opera if that helps, good size, good looking crowd, everyone dresses well, lots of bottle service booths everywhere etc.
Daytime parties all you mainly have is Piknic and Beach Club. If you had been able to head to MTL on our May long weekend there would have also been Terrasses during the day for Roger Sanchez. Or even this upcoming weekend for the Gaya Festival also at Terrasses Bonsecours. King Louis is right though cabbing from MTL to Beach Club would be a fair chunk of extra $$$ its about 40-50 min outside of downtown Montreal so would be a bit.
And dinner recommendations I don't have many but there is many restaurant in Montreal I'm sure you could easily walk down St Laurent or anywhere for that matter and find something along the way to your liking. |
