| Funny, I was reading a feminist book the other day that was convinced there is a myth of equality in society and that women are still far worse off than men. |

Women, especially attractive women, are very persuasive, specifically in the business world.
IMO women will never be able to make strategic choices like a man would. Its just not in there chemistry. To many things keep them off balance - estrogen, menopause, emotions. |

Men screwed up when we let women vote....its been downhill ever since.
Women only bitch and scream about equal rights when it benefits them.....you don't hear them screaming about equal rights when you tell them to mow the ing lawn. |

I often wonder, is all the talk of equal rights for women and role reversals in society a cause of rising numbers of gays and lesbians?
Maybe it's a silly question but you can't argue that there are more around these days than say 20 years ago. |

Perhaps there's more flexibility for them to come out of the closet, that's why it seems there are more of them?

Probably not so much the women's rights but more the reversal of the traditional roles of males/females which is becoming more common I think. A lot of guys I know don't like being under the thumb, but I really don't know and I just wonder sometimes.
I know of a couple of guys that have turned gay because they've had some really bad relationships/experiences with women, although I think it's just a preference for the majority. I think Lira's probably right and it's simply more accepted in this day and age. |

Really?
That's kind of inconceivable to me, personally. I can't imagine being treated really badly by a few women and then saying to myself one day, "Ya know, I think I should probably try getting with dudes instead." It seems like you either have that desire to start with or you don't.

Actually, I know a lesbian that gave that very same reason. Her taste in men was really poor though, and she was always picking the worst possible guys to date... she could be trying to tell herself unconciously that men sucked before she went for her actual cup of tea. |
