FL Studio: Euphoric Acoustic Sound Sample...(Help! :))

Hey guys!

I'm back. You guys help me a lot so naturally I have humbly returned...

To get to the point: I am trying get a good euphoric sound from my acoustic sample I have. I want it to mostly slide, but I also want to use it for fast pizzicato style notes. Basically now it is a steel guitar with some reverb added.

My Question: Is there anything else I can do to get a good robust and euphoric sound out of this? I want to give it a more saw like sound that works with portamento, but also I need something at the begining of the sample that kind of bounces it in there, bluntly.

My Questions:

1. Is there any good way, in fl studio, to use FM or subtractive synthesis on this?

2. What is the best way to increase the volume of the sample by about 3-5x (it's very low) and still keep the quality?

3. Is there a way that I can capture a portion of the waveform and use it as a synth that keeps playing until I release the key?

4. Would it be good to try to combine the sound with another sample? How would I do that?

Any help is appreciated. Thanks guys.

(update)

I have discovered directwave in fl studio for performing subtractive synthesis on my samples. Sure is alot nicer than the stock sampler that FL studio provides. I will be using this from now on.

The filter options seem pretty cool on this.

3. I'm not sure if I understood correctly, but can't the CRF do this to a ready sample?

I'm not an expert on it, but.. Just trying to help. Try turning the CRF knob up a bit, it creates these red markers into the waveform, showing the loop points.

use direct wave, ******.

Indeed, I used the normal sampler, but it doesn't have the same affect as the directwave sampler or the wide array of options.

This seems to be my best bet for altering this sample besides using something like melodyne studio.

Thanks for the replies. If anyone has any more tips please let me know.
