EDIT - So here's the chorus added now.
Will be making vox a little quieter and less sharp + add little vox echoes etc in chorus to vary say every 3rd or 4th measure.

I'm not sure that you really need to change much in the vocals apart from sitting them in the mix a bit better. They're very forward at the moment and overwhelm the track, although it is on Myspace so who knows.
I'd like to see more ooohs and aaaahs and some breathy background phrases. Maybe even some subtle vocoded harmonising?
This track could be HUGE though. It's sounding awesome already matey.
I wouldn't mind listening to a decent quality render though. |

Yea I think they could go a little quieter.
So do you think there needs to be vocals in the chorus part mate - the 2 parts that are currently instrumental?
Thanks for the compliments. I was thinking about background vocal elements possibly, but I'm not sure and also I don't want to burden Dave with too much work! |

Well I didn't miss the vocals in the chorus parts but I did miss that certain killer hook line that any track needs, it just gets SO close.
Any chance you can privately share it on Soundcloud so I can listen to a decent render a few times today? |

It's not too much work! We'll definitely re-record the chorus. Mia and I both agree that the verses worked out great, but we had some uncertainty as to how to approach the chorus. ;) |

A chorus could work but in all honesty a hook would also work, or infact just as it is. It all depends if you want the break from the vocals or not. Sometimes its good to hear just the track. Get the chorus done and see if it fits and works, if it doesnt them drop it.
I wont comment on the mix though as most have said what I thought, and as it not finished I assume your working on all that. Nice track though mate look forward to hearing it finished. |

Is it me or is there some timing issue going on?
I don't mean with the vocal - it sounds like you need to nudge the perc and/or bass back/forward a tiny bit. I would call it clocking, but something is not quite sitting right with the timing of the bassline to my ears.
That track could be huge though..... |

The timing issue might be in the attack of the bass-line. It definitely seemed more prominent to the end of the note than the beginning and even a little under-stated, in the mix. I did hear a percussion note (a back-beat snare or something???) that sounded a little hinky, too, but I only noticed it through my head-phones and not when I played it out on my speakers.
EDIT: Loved the funk on the bass-line, though, and in total agreement with RANN - could be a huge track. |
