Sampling problem. (Using Edison)

Hey guys,
I have been working in Edison trying to cut out the "meat" of a sample (of an acoustic instrument) I want to alter. I am basically cutting out the highest volume section out of a sample I have using edison, cutting the section, and recopying to a new sample file.
The problem is that it's giving me sharp unwanted noise at the begining of the new sample. What can I do to fix this? I've heard of somethihng called zero point. Is that what I want to look into? Maybe there is a better plugin than edison. This sample just won't work with this crap.
Any help is greatly appreciated,

Lester | never liked edison in fl either so what i did was lay the wav file in fl playlist and use the tools in there to re edit.
you may try sony sound forge or there is some good freeware apps that will help get the job done |
