DJ headphones and earbuds.

So I've been trying a bunch of headphones out lately with comfort in mind first. I like good bass and sound obviously but if I'm going to be wearing them for 5+ hours in a sitting they need to be comfortable.

I bought a pair of Yamaha's about a month ago and the sound is pretty good for how much they cost but they are not that comfy for me, they're big and feel rather heavy on my head compared to other cans. It's really hard to tell what headphones are going to feel like outside of wearing them for more than 3-5 minutes in the store.
So I'm probably going to take these back and get something else.

It seems that a lot of cans feel pretty damn uncomfortable on my head for various reasons and the high-end ones usually have the best fit and sound/bass go figure.

I've more or less narrowed down my selection to these 4:

Pioneer HDJ-2000's, Ultrasone DJ1 and Ultrasone DJ1 Pro.

I kinda liked these lower end ones because they were really comfy on my head - but the sound quality is meh compared to the above obviously. ATH-PRO5MSA audio-technica.

There were a few cheaper options that fit my ears well, but the aesthetics and sound/bass were not so great in comparison.

So I'm wondering what you'd go with out of these 4? Is there a much of a difference between the Ultrasone DJ1 and DJ1 Pro? I'm just doing bedroom DJ stuff at the moment, but I'm not sure I like the idea of buying a cheaper set of cans then having to possibly upgrade when I start to do gigs. I figure why not just go for something higher-end that can accommodate both interests.

Also even though these are DJ cans would you or do you ever wear your cans out in public when you're listening to music? My damn ear buds just busted and I'm loathing the idea of buying another pair because I've gone through 3 pairs of Apple buds and 2 pairs of Sony MDR buds in the past 5 years. I'm not sure if that's considered a lot but it's kinda pricey when you add it up. I don't even think I'm that hard on my gear - the buds just break or the cords get caught on something and tear. That said I'd feel like less of a tool wearing ear buds outside rather than my DJ cans. Granted people wear Beats by DRE and those aren't much smaller than high-end DJ cans. Am I just making a fuss out of nothing? What's your preference?

Can anyone suggest some good ear buds?

Edit: Also does anyone know of a good place to buy ear buds/DJ cans in Canada or possibly else where that's cheap?

There's few options where I live and the prices are high compared to what I've seen online. Though by the time you add shipping in I guess it's close to the same price anyhow and I don't have to go to the trouble of mailing them out if there's an issue.

Anyway help appreciated! :- )

dj cans = sony mdr 7506

ear buds = sennheiser buds are pretty good (forget the model number) there are some really high end ones and some that are pretty affordable. I owned a pair of sony ear buds and the cords got completely torn up for what felt like no reason whatsoever. after doing some research, it's a very common thing for sony earbuds. as for apple buds, I'm sure you're just wasting your money with those.

for public places, it's up to you man. with dj cans, you'll probably get nice noise cancellation and very nice sound quality (and I find the sony's I recommended super comfortable), but you'll have to deal with lugging them around and the risk of them breaking.

ear buds are much easier to carry around and would probably last a lot longer if you're going to be taking them every where with you.

I don't have any experience with the headphones you listed, and I don't use earbuds. However, this topic is also being discussed in this thread.
