.... Going to do the inevitable, and watch this movie in a couple of minutes.

not going to make this too long

the good:
- the screenplay, directing, and soundtrack. excellent all around from front to end. built a piece of the facebook history as a baseline, and built a storyline behind it. trent reznor and atticus ross picked and composed very awesome music that blended well within the movie. their first couple of tracks in the movie were pure bliss.
- the acting. hell i thought yuppie douchebags and justin timberlake did a nice job with their roles as sean parker "" and the harvard guys. yeah my cred just went down from right here ....
- the use of technology thrown around throughout the movie. Mark Zuckenberg doesn't need an IDE to program a massive website. He can do it straight from vi!

the bad:
- the female acting. except for the paralegal, all the females got dumbed down. sorry ladies. (well except for brenda song. i would leave it on her anyday.)
- i do feel the movie was a bit overdramatized in some ways, especially during the California days.

the ugly:
- the ending. i felt fincher had an idea to prolong it another 30-40 minutes, but higher execs told him to cut it, and he cut it to about 2 hours with a story line at the end. it felt incomplete.
- sean parker's exit. very empty. then again, this does tie to the previous bullet point.

overall, a solid movie. i would say this is david fincher's "boogie nights" for the tech savvy who know the process of how a website grows into a phenomenon.

Awesome. I will steal it as soon as I can, at least for the irony's sake.

i don't have to watch the movie.. i just watched this and now i know what it's ALLL about..

Finally got around to watching this. Aaron Sorkin did a tremendous job with the screenplay and Andrew Garfield is going places.

That being said, Zuckerberg's character [Eisenberg] was such a condescending, pompous douche, I was hoping he'd get run over by a moving truck halfway into the movie.

People with that much technical ability usually have it at cost to other facets of their lives. I don't know how much of a choice he really had to be a nice guy with the standard set of social skills.
Renzo
Yeah. Also, the movie is definitely not movie-of-the-year quality.

That's for sure.

I did enjoy it, though.
WittyHandle
I'm not taking it as an account of what actually happened, or trying to rank it against other flicks, but I thought it was very well done and very much enjoyed it.
Renzo
Oh, with Fincher at the helm, it is most definitely not an account of what actually occurred.

I was actually impressed with his acting (bar a couple of minute 'odd' moments).

I thought he did a good job. He was great in Alpha Dog, which is a decent movie as well.
