Hey TA,
Looking for some input on software to use to capture / record streaming audio / video of a clip from a website.
Here is the clip: http://www.licklibrary.com/Webcasts/7/April+2010
The question is... Is there a way to record the video / audio in HIGH QUALITY to burn onto a DVD?
I've tried software like Camtasia and
http://www.nchsoftware.com/capture/index.html, but it's recording the
audio from Mic input, which is low quality and there must be NO BACKGROUND sound to do so...
Is there a way to record to a program that can then transfer to DVD in same high quality as shown?
TIA |

| cant you just extract the .flv file from the website and convert it with some encoder? |

| Yes, extracting the FLV file is a option, but finding software to do so is where i'm stuck... I haven't found any that could do so with the embedded video on the actual site. Know of any programs? |

| This is most likely not the correct sub-forum, but anyway. If you use Firefox, try the plug-in "DownloadHelper". ;) |

Jdownloader might work for you.
Copy a link of the video and copy it into jdownloader and it'll allow you to download the video. (eg. youtube links etc although copyright infringement rules still apply obviously)
Should do what i think you're trying to do. Although not sure if you can catch streaming material. |

| I'd use Soundflower for that. Soundflower is a virtual sound card for OS X. Set up Soundflower as your sound output and Soundflower as your sound input for your recording program and start recording. If you're using Windows, I can't help you, but there's probably something similar available for Windows too. |
