Feeling Out Of It? (producing dry spell)
View this Thread in Original format

ever felt as if you totally just lost it? i'm having a bit of trouble producing again since i've took a break from it in the last couple of months. got some new monitors and interface and i felt as if that was going to inspire me but now it's just making me a little depressed. I started up on this track and i was hoping for a little critiquing. there is no current bassline but damn, i feel like i'm totally out of it.

Yeah, needs bass. :p

Also, needs more Emma Hewitt. :tongue3

Seriously, though, there's not much there, but what is there sounds good and really grooves. It's a great foundation for a killer track, so I guess I don't see where the problem is - finish it! And, I was actually being somewhat serious above - this idea is a great foundation for a vocal track IMO.

Thanks cryro! i tend to lurk the forums a bit and i see that you work alot with vocals, maybe you want to collab on it? I run FL 9 though and i know you use sonar so maybe we can figure something out. thanks for the motivational words!

dry spells suck so if you aint happy with what you make now then find something that's a lot simpler to make.

so if you are stuck with the creative process look to others for inspiration

if its the tech side of things google will help just take time out to learn you have not yet done so far.

i know when my dryspells are gonna happen, i usually run out of juice(just the way i work). it sucks but just keep tinkering, exploring and synthesizing and you will spark up eventually.

If you haven't wanted to bang your head against your desk when producing, you aren't a producer imo. It's part of the agonizing process. :D Just keep banging away...not your head on the desk, but in front of your DAW.
