Go Solar - WIP

After weeks of doing nothing much a song happens outof teh blue, not only that but it's in a major key. Quite unusual for me!

The track is at an early stage and a lot of what's in there is temporary but I think it gives you an idea of where it's headed

I just came across this on Soundcloud when I was about to upload one of my new tracks.

It's certainly a "positive" piece of music and I think it's one of your best so far. I love the chords and that lovely arp.

When I heard the guitar coming in, I also imagined some other "organic" sounds working well alongside it. I think it would be nice to hear a strummed guitar, piano and lead guitar playing simultaneously, but I won't get ahead of myself

Anyway, great job, Geoff. I like what I hear so far.

Cheers Owen old bean!

Funnily enough I was already thinking of some extra organic elements in teh break. A cello part keeps vaguely forming in the back of my mind....

The arp just kind of happened as I wanted something that sounded like a waterfall on a transition. A bit of filter cutoff, some specific ping pong settings and a liberal dash of reverb and there we are! :D

I've beaten myself for being so upbeat though. It won't happen again!

glad to see you've got something new coming too :)

Just finish it!

It does sound good, so far, but really, it's right at that apex where you should be pushing yourself to go ahead and roll down the hill to the full version release.

Agreed

My dirty secret is that this represents approximately two hours work. It literally flew out after a month of dead ends!

I will most definately finish it, and it may be the first track I send to a label :p

It's quite good, so good luck with that. I've had those few and far between sessions where everything just sort of fits together and I nick it out without much fuss. If you do it again, though, I'm going to have to fly to England and nurse you with cheap boxed wine in order to kill the brain-cells which are allowing for that level of performance.

Cheap, boxed red wine.

Mmmmmmmmmm :p

Cheers Darek, you're too kind as always! :p

This made me smile. Wading through a sea of minor scales to have some Major uplift. Good job. Would perhaps like a little more drive in the track but that is personal taste.

Well worth the listen and definitely looking forward to hear what becomes of this.

cheers
