If 2008 signaled the arrival of an emerging superstar, then 2009 has cemented the name Markus Schulz into the minds of electronic music fans across the world. It’s far from an understatement to suggest that the German-born trance hero has impacted upon the music industry on a global level, with a weekly radio show that broadcasts worldwide, a tour to match and an iPhone app to boot, the Markus Schulz empire is stronger than ever._
Having taken possession of a top ten berth in the prestigious DJ Mag Top 100 poll for the second year in a row, 2010 couldn’t be set up better for the Schulz show to continue its ascent, and with an artist album due in the summer who would bet against Markus mayhem sweeping the globe once again.
Originally from Berlin, Markus moved to the US aged 13 and quickly become engrossed in the break-dancing scene of the time. Although a talented mover on the floor, a chance to dominate the decks at a breaks party he helped organize proved to be the pivotal moment when Markus decided upon the path of his life’s work.
