I think it's funny we keep sending troops to Iraq and Afghanistan and yet we don't commit any to securing our own borders or even attempt to fight back at the cartels. While I don't wish any ill will on our military, I fail to see how installing regime change benefits the ordinary American citizen. |

I'll be honest. I believe our "Border" concern is based mostly on racism. |

Yea pretty much.
Not that it validates sending troops someplace else, but ummm yea. White people below the bay area spanning east to the atlantic hate people that aren't white. Its a proven fact.
Ok maybe not ALLLL of them, but most of them. |

You could reduce it to racism I suppose, but it's probably much more than that. Letting people in unregistered and generally untaxed, where they are free to take advantage of numerous facilities citizens' tax money goes to is letting the wolf into the ing chicken coop.
I am not unsympathetic to the plight these people face in their own country, nor the prejudice they face here - I am certainly not saying that they have it easy here, or are all on welfare/unemployment/filling up emergency rooms on the hospital's dime. Oh wait, yeah, I kind of am. Regardless, letting people cross your bridge without paying the toll is just foolishness, in the basest, most reptilian sense possible. Barbed wire barricades and armed border guards probably aren't the best answer though, so there's likely a lot of work and reform that needs to be done. |
