I don't know if this was the appropriate forum spot to place this inquiry under and I tried to use the search function but couldn't find any info pertaining to this.

Just wondering - has anyone used a website called http://www.topdjgear.com/ to buy gear?

I did a very quick Google search initially and found positive reports on one page. The price on my item was also quite cheap. I called their toll free number and spoke to someone who answered all my questions.
I placed the order on 06/29/2010

Today's 07/03/2010 - Just 5 days from when I placed the order initially..

So I check the status of my order on their page to see what's up.
Site says the order is "on hold"

I found that a bit odd because I read on their website that they are to notify you via e-mail if an item is out of stock/on hold.

So I did some more digging on Google and apparently back in 2007 many people had problems with the store, but it has since been under new management.

I haven't been charged on my Visa yet and perhaps I'm overreacting but a lot of the issues I read about were similar in that orders were placed and put on hold and credit cards were charged but the order was never sent out.

So has anyone had any dealings with this website? I really don't want to deal with a scam here. Thoughts?

I haven't bought from them, but if your card hasn't been charged yet, it might be that the reason the status is "on hold" is that they don't have the item in stock. I'd give them a call and see what's up.

Yeah I know that's most likely what it is, (or at least I hope so.) but if the customer has placed an order and the company is out of stock they're supposed to contact the customer via e-mail. Item numbers aren't even listed on the site so the customer has no way of knowing otherwise unless you phone them.

They aren't even open on weekends - pretty lame. I mean how could you not be open on a Saturday lol.

Still interested to hear if anyone has had any dealings with this site.
