I just got back from Varadero...

It's not the best place to party thats for sure, but if you like hip-hop, reggae and soca then your def going to the write place.

Every night there is at least one club that's "good" on particular night, ask the bartenders and lifeguards they can tell you.

A couple clubs I went to were Capacitta, Internatinal and the Cave. I thought international and the cave were super gimmicky but I actually really liked the outside/open layout of capacitta.

Their is also a massive street party every saturday around 46th street and its pretty much a couple thousand locals with a dj just getting trashed, its actually really fun so deffinatly check it out...

I did a couple parties on the Beach as well, but from what I made out its not a scheduled thing at a regular place. You gotta be invited by someone who knows where it is and it changes every night, but if you can find one, its a cool experience. ask your lifeguards.

As far as other things to do, its the usual carribean . RENT A SCOOTER FOR THE WEEK. You can get one for like $100 CUC for the week, park it at your hotel, and fill it up for like $2, and your transportation is all set for the week. Take it on the highway and drive inland and see how people really live. You can also take it to Metansas (sp?), its this town about 20 mins away from varadero and you can scuba dive there for $25, such a great deal.
