Using Novation Nocturn controller with Ableton WITHOUT using MIDI Learn

| Is this possible? I dont see why standalone VST's all auto-wrap to the device but the official way I've seen to do the same thing with Ableton effect variables is to have to assign each Ableton effects control to a phyisical Nocturn knob using Abletons MIDI Learn feature, am I missing something? |

yeh you are missing something dude.
go to options - preferences - midi sync. and in the first drop down box under control surface choose your controller. once you have done this ull be able to control abletons mixer with your nocturn. you'll also be able to control abletons instruments and effects this way |

| i wouldnt mind knowing the awnser to this i was thinking of getting this and i use ableton, im only getting it if say i can load a sylenth and all the knobs are automatically mapped/linked to the envolopes and filters etc.. |

| VST's being automapped works and isnt a problem its just the Ableton DAW automapping I'm finding an issue right now.. |

thats strange the nocturn as available to choose from my drop down list ?
what version of ableton are you on ? |

| Ok I found out its the version of Automap causing the issue - v3.5 supports this device in Live! |
