Things sound fine in my work comp headphones, but I feel like the track lacks a grabbing hook. I found myself listening but not grooving/bobbing my head to it.
The cymbals are a bit overly bright to me... maybe eq the very high frequency down just a tad. The pluck is beautiful though. The ringing builder seems like its way too loud to my taste. I'm not sure I'd enjoy it out of a big dance floor sound system.
The sub lead, introduced during the break, definitely has a stereotypical fall off. The second sub lead after the second break is kind of cool, but I feel its so lost at the edges that it feels transparent in the mix. Very cool atmosphere, but you should make it stand out.
The lead that follows along in the main break really is very nice, but I feel as though its a little forgetful do to the lack of a catchy groove. The bit crush break down is kind of cool, but feels a bit forced/out of place in the mix to me.
I think its a well produced piece, just not something I'd push onto a label just yet. The sound balancing is okay, though the low end feels a bit empty to me. Maybe is a strong bass groove that the tracks is missing for me.
Also, I left you some timed comments. hope you find this stuff helpful in some sense. Don't think badly of the track man, its got a solid feeling, but I just don't find myself diving back to listen again right now. |

Keep in mind that I am listening on a pair of clapped out headphones with one cup slightly broken.
The sounds are nicely arranged and that the track as a whole works pretty well together.
I find the bass and percs a little bit standard and there is no real groove in the track. You would be relying on this quite a lot as the track itself may not have enough of interest to carry it on melody alone.
As a tune in its own right it is nice but in terms of a dance floor filler it is definitely missing the groove factor. It feels more like it might be suitable for a driving game (and trust me there is no shame in that) as it gives me the sense that I would want to be in a convertible with the top down driving in the sun.
I like it but wouldn't play it on the dance floor. I did enjoy listening to it though.
Many thanks
