I had no idea.

Well, it's no wonder you're the poster boy for TA.

To be fair though, many religious people believe that if you aren't religious like them, you will suffer.

And to some of them that though alone brings them endless joy. Some just cant help but imagine how much you're going to suffer after you die while they are dining up there with JC and love telling you that every chance they get.

Yeah, I stumbled upon that video a few months ago but didn't post it here because I had already started like 3 or 4 threads about religion that week. :p

It's pretty ing scary that there's parents that would snap like that on their own children for not accepting the religious beliefs they were taught.

It's quite common in America for Christians to become angry with their children or friends for not agreeing with their beliefs. I knew a lot of people in high school that were either agnostic or atheist but they wouldn't tell their parents and family for fear of the backlash.

I didn't watch the video; however, wouldn't it be more frightening if they simply accepted a rejection of their religious beliefs by their child. What I mean is if the parents honestly believe that their faith is entirely accurate / true and that failure to practice said faith would result in any number of negative consequences including but not limited to eternal damnation then it would seem far worse to me if they did not react negatively, as that would equate to indiffernce toward their own child. Your use of the word snap suggests the reaction was unpleasent, so maybe there could have been a better approach but indifference would be really scary, as who could be indifferent to their own child?

It's the whole dogmatic mentality that makes people believe things with such a passion and without question to the extent that it makes you act violently and irrationally that is the scary thing in the first place. ;)

And watch the video. :p
