it was excellent. prettiest girls ever at an edm, better than average djs in three rooms, reasonable sound. i felt like i was at a private party. it was like going back 5 years in time machine.
i was suspecting for long TAs are poisoning the scene. since all the boyz were busy burning woody, i think i was right. |

Suprisingly few reviews considering the fact that the main room was packed! I saw Piet three nights in a row and the Saturday set was by far the best! It was totally his typical style. I think on Thu and Fri he had a different type of crowd so he just tried to please them but on Sat he could play whatever he wanted - that's why I love Circus and the people who go there :gsmile: Piet and Bob tag teaming was a very last minute idea but I'm happy it happened because that way we got more of Piet and more of Bob! :D

you are lucky. there was armin white show at circus long time ago, many long timers consider it the best. these two are different, but i might take this one over that. this was all around good, rather than at armin it was just a dj display.
if you go again, you might be disappointed. crowd was totally atypical of the last 3 years or so. ticket was $15 at the beginning and they dropped it to $10. it means freaks went to freak shows.
i don't know the direction circus is going. i am guessing some changes are coming. if circus can build a crowd base like this, it will be cool. but, promoters only care about their pocket, which i can't blame them, and bring whatever freak they can find. it is up to club owner eventually how much money he wants to make or lose at some cases. organizers like insomniac, go ventures, giant try to maximize the profit with least expense. |

I assume you're talking about the Fetish Nation and Batcave nights they have at Circus twice a month. I personally like these nights and know a few others who do too. Btw, the LMD promoter's not banking at all on the goth part. They're completely separate from the LMD promotion. And not everybody at Circus is thinking only about $$$ ;) |

Well,
The crowd was good looking but Shark the night before had much better looking crowd. OK, not 100% an EDM event but I can think of many other nights at Circus with better looking crowd.
The place was not dead but I definitely wouldn't call it packed as long as they have half the dance floor closed off.
The fetish folks are harmless indeed and help the place look full on nights that it would otherwise look dead. |
