You see, if you import the cheapest labor possible, you are able to become a "Super Power" or what ever the USA was.
If for 400 years you only allow the biggest and strongest to breed so they can work harder and earn you more, you get the NBA & NFL
However, if for the same 400 years you are afraid of your really cheap labor escaping so you intellectually starve, and kill any part of this labor force that shows any sign of intelligence, you get America today.
America is like a Greek tragedy, what allowed it to become so prosperous has developed in to the very thing that is destroying it. |

EDIT: the one part that Mr. Sketchy forgot to take into account, is that Empire rot has not only affected the imported labour, which was sabotaged, but also the labour that bread from within, but was still treated as the lowest common denominator. |
