Roll Call: Eclipse Festival 10 year Anniversary (pg. 4)

While the video's im going to post hardly do justice, (stupid 80$ camera) they'll give those of you who didnt go, an idea as to what this festival is like.

I thought based on what I heard, that Id be bombarded by psytrance and not much else.

I was wrong. Extremely wrong. Through the course of three days I heard every genre of music imaginable. There were three main 'areas' where different genres were played. The main (solar stage) played anything from psytrance, trance, to progressive and techno. The second (lunar?) stage played mostly techno, minimal and prog. All of it was flawless. The final area focussed on downtempo stuff, playing anything from ambient psy to psychadelic grateful dead'esque stuff.

I spent most of the daytime walking around, checking out the various vendors, hanging out on the beach, and dancing up a storm whenever i felt the right sound.

The crowd was super cool. None of the sketch that is found at WEMF or, Guv. Everyone who was on something, knew their limits and nothing sketchy or dangerous seemed to happen. At WEMF, all to often you see people who are in wayyy too deep.

The overall atmosphere was phenomenal. The tent city was huge and spread over a relatively hilly area. People were social, humble and there to party. Smiles everywhere.

Once the night creeped in, the energy picked up immensely. The main stage kept the faster tempo trance and psytrance, while the lunal stage stuck with house/techno/minimal for the most part. For friday and saturday night, i was right upfront at the lunar stage dancing my ass off to some of the filthiest, hearty, pounding techno/tribal ive ever heard. Mixes were seamless, the energy was non stop. I pretty much danced from midnight til sunrise, stopping only to grab water everynow and then. Fckin awesome. There was also a guy with a full fledged native head dress. that was pretty bad ass.

Sunday afternoon, D-Nox ripped up the mainstage with some proper techno, a couple anthemic sounding tracks and a couple classics. Awesome energy filled set. Everyone was digging the vibe.

Ive never danced so much my entire life, and this is from someone who has 5 or 6 outdoor festivals under his belt and always dances through sunrises. By the end of the weekend, I wanted to dance more but physically couldnt because of my aching joints and muscles!

If you like summer, beaches, and GOOOD music you should go to eclipse. While there is psytrance, it is by no means a psytrance only party. You MUST go next year. The techsafari guys and girls know how to throw a party.

Thank you Techsafari for making my summer.

im just waiting for those videos to finish uploading and then ill post em.

Eclipse was absolutely amazing!
As was pointed out the music was just unreal with zero cheese, everyone was very very friendly dancing their asses off and the organization was top notch - everything was done treating the attendees like people and not like numbers - free water, amazing set up, security that was very friendly and doing what they can to help people enjoy themselves not get in the way.

The only downside is that no other party will be able to come close to the awesomeness that was Eclipse (including an upcoming trip to Ibiza), except for possibly upcoming Eclipses.

I highly recommend everyone go there at least once!.

Thank you TechSafari and whoever else was responsible for bringing this event together!
Thank you!!!
Sasha

Widen up your privacy settings so I can be jealous please!

Now maybe some of you new schoolers know why us old school outdoor ravers from the 90's scoff at clubs today... We had the better part of a decade of that kind of party :)

Just a brief review.

Event was amazing, I am not a big trance/psy-trance fan but without WEMF I was hoping to find a festival that could full the void. Eclipse definitely did.

The variety and quality of the music was great. The people, location and atmosphere couldn't have been better. I will definitely be going again next year.

Big thanks to the Tech Safari group for all the work they clearly put into making everything they could've out of the weekend.
