Shibuya-kei is a style of J-Pop/House that I have been getting into lately. It sounds very upbeat and perky, but not hyper. I would say this sounds like a different kind of Electro House. This is more like chic Electro from 2060 that has vocoder modified vocals over top of it...
and it seems to only be made in Japan:
Does anyone have more of this stuff? Is any of this kind of music being made outside of the land of the rising sun?

Normally I have to either get lucky and find the songs I want on the US iTunes store, or get unlucky and have to buy the CDs off of Ebay (because anywhere else wants between $25-30 for a CD otherwise.) I hope more artists set up international digital stores soon, and quit with the awkward licensing deals that make "territory restricted" pop up on Beatport.

It's like happy hardcore without the hardcore but... more happy. I didn't think it was possible, you've opened my eyes to a world of music that fills me with the most joy I've ever felt in my life. Never again will I be able to listen to anything else without it sounding gross and devoid of any emotion, like an ugly weed in the field of flowers that this music is. This is absolute beauty, perfect despite being no more than a simple electronic groove under the voices of three young Japanese women. just watched a bunch of Perfume videos (well liek a few hours ago).
LOL those girls are awesome and holy at Capsule! Looks like we found out where GaGa stole all her from... at least in terms of looks! :p
