Hey there boys and girls.

As I mentioned in my introductory thread, I occasionally try my hand at production in Reason 4 and so... I've decided to post a couple of my latest here for you to check out, I'm very interested in finding out what others think to my stuff.

Feel free to comment. Hopefully you'll enjoy them.

"Virtual Cycles" [Progressive House]

Virtual Cycles by photonix

"Projekt One" [Trance]

Projekt One by photonix
VLC
Checked the first one out..

I must admit I dislike that "Swirl" sound that well, especially noticable in the start

Other than that I find it sort of sad that the tensioncurve only really goes up, could use a little variation.

Also sounds very messy

i think he means the mix mate.. not enough clear seperation between the individual elements.

quite like your trancey thing.

People are too hung up on messy mixes etc.... a meesy mix can be easily fixed by someone who knows how. We should really be commenting on the elements of the track and not the mastering skill of the artist.

anyway.

Nice track, like the sounds used and the chilled relaxed vibe. Really nice strings and stuff in there. The melody is really nice, did you write it yourself?

Like the sort of relaxed kick and bass.. nothing too slamming. This would make a great forst track for a dj, get em warmed up.

Needs some playing around with engineering side as sounds clashing, but this is a technicality. You should do some reading on mastering, and equalization etc... What processing did you use? Any limiting or compression?
