I've got a big house party tomorrow, and I wanted to play some trance sets for the crowd but I don't know which to choose because I don't want them not to like it. Most of them have never been exposed to trance, and I want to play them something that will either get them hooked or at least enjoy it. I know I wont be able to please everyone, but I wanna please at least some cause without the trance, for me, the party is ruined.
So post some good livesets I can play. Right now i've been told Summerbreeze would be good, or one of the magiks.
Anyone?
ps. or even just give me a good play list for trance newbies and i'll put together a cd (not too cheesy so they think its gay, and not too hardcore so it hurts their mind.. :haha: somewhere in between) |

You can't go wrong with tuneful stuff like svenson & gielen, ferry, armin & the like, throw ur all time classics in & chill to it all :)
Liveset recommendation would be ferrys 2000 trance energy one, truly mindblowing :) |

Here's some songs I found while sifting through my collection to get non-trancers into trance. Stick to energetic melody based tunes.
06_cosmic_gate_-_the_wave (psudo-cheesy melody)
4 Strings- Diving (Vocal Mix)
01-driftwood-freeloader__original_mix (how can the melody not get stuck in your head)
Frank T.R.A.X.- Nebuchan (O.R.G.A.N. Mix)
a1 Rank 1 - Awakening (Original Mix)
drax - amphetamine (original) |

| Make your own mix and make it a combination of cheese, vocal, chillout, uplifting, and hard trance. Should do the trick :D |

Yes, exactly.
The best ploy is to start off with some brainless, ultra-cheesy that they can sing along to, and that gets the girls on the dance floor, and only move onto the proper stuff later on when everyone's too drunk to notice.
If you play trance from the word go, the guys will feel intimidated and the girls just won't dance. Either way, unless by some sheer miracle they admit to liking it from the word go, the party will in all probability flop.
It does depend on the crowd though, but just be careful you don't expose the crowd to a form of music that they may not quite be ready for mentally. :D |
