1.4 million people. obviously not a ticket-capacity controlled event. wonder if they had any idea that many people would show up. still sucks.

Does this mean SF can have their "Love Parade" title back?

"A stampede inside a tunnel crowded with TECHNO music fans left 15 people dead and dozens injured at the famed Love Parade festival in western Germany on Saturday."

HeckNO on the Techno!

Techno is used to describe all EDM music in Germany, including Trance. That's how it was in 2006 when I went to the Berlin Love Parade, I'm sure it hasn't changed much.

My thoughts go out to the families and friends of those who were killed or injured in this year's version of what was created in 1989 as an event that brought peace and music together as one...

1.5m ppl. Wow. Sorry for those who lost their lifes during the horrific incident.

Lets see if Germany bans the event.

But I would bet my shorts that LA Times will try to link up EDC and Love Parade, "Rave in Germany kills 15!!!"

This story is going to have some reverberations in the EDM community, listen to Mark Knight:

Imagine being told to keep DJing after learning what happened, just to supposedly keep people in check. I couldn't. Sad.

Its 19 dead now.
So sad!
It really scares me that this could happen soon at an event like EDC, especially after some of the stuff that happened tis year.
I fill that it all comes down to the event planners. How can you funnel a million people through an area that small? Or funnel thousands down a single set of stairs into the coliseum?

I really hope LovEv still goes down and that is is planned carefully!!!

It looks like Love Parade will be no more.

I'm afraid that this will jeopardize any other events like this around the world. I would think most city officials wouldn't want something like this to happen on their watch... sad.

This is truly a sad that for our community, to think that Love Parade, will no longer be held is pure tragic. It's sad to think that stuff like this keeps happening at our events. I hope that San Francisco can continue to hold our parade and expand the area to meet the needs of the large crows.

Last year, I got there at 5pm and the place was PACK!!! You could barely move, I can only imagine how crazy it was at 1pm or so..

EDC in Los Angeles, got lucky to only have such low numbers of injuries and one death, because I saw videos of people getting stampeded and such tragedy could have also occurred here at home..

Anyway in the end accidents can and will happen but when things are not plan accordingly, stuff like this does occur.

The era of the massive is over.
