Sunday July 25th
promise cherry beach sunday afternoon soundsystem
This Sunday we welcome you to join us at the beach beach. You may remember our old spot, by the windsurfing club. We return for a special Sunday on the sand by the lake, amongst the swaying trees, as the sun sets behind our city to the west.
We deeply appreciate the continued enthusiastic support of Councillor Paula Fletcher and her staff, and Sandy Straw and Scott Atwood from Toronto Parks, without whom Cherry Beach Sundays would not be possible. Please take the time to send a heartfelt message of thanks to them:
Paula Fletcher -
Sandy Straw -
Scott Atwood -
And our line up this Sunday:
Dalia - hip hop goodness
Ted Dancin’ - deep disco
Friendlyness - dub reggae
Rick Lapante (Ottawa) - bouncy tech house
Tripzone, Koen and Cici Cox - sunset house
Praying Mantis - deep techno
3 to 11pm
Take Lakeshore Blvd West past Parliament, turn south on Cherry Street and follow it to the very end, then go east along the bike path to just before the windsurfing club... you’ll hear the music.
Bring a picnic, bring a kite, bring a handy sweater, bring a dog (only nice dogs), bring your lover and a hammock.
And remember your reusable mug, and also one for a friend who forgot.
See you down at the beach!
cheers,
David and Irving |

This Week's Cherry Beach is MONDAY :)
from the promise crew:
this Monday August 2nd
promise cherry beach monday afternoon soundsystem
It’s a long weekend so Cherry Beach is on Monday. And, after giving the land a well needed rest, we return to our regular home by the massive derelict smokestack.
G Cue (chicago house)
Violet (dub reggae)
Adam Davis (classic house)
Sidenote (funk and dubstep)
Baby Joel (progressive house)
Matt C (deep house)
Machinelf (psychedelic techno)
3 to 11pm
Thanks to everyone who took the time to write to Councillor Paula Fletcher and Sandy Straw and Scott Atwood from Toronto Parks in appreciation of their continued support of Cherry Beach Sundays. This is very important! Nicely done. And forgot to ask that you send us a copy of your email so we have it around -
If you’ve been planning to write but not gotten around to it yet, here’s the email addresses again:
Paula Fletcher -
Sandy Straw -
Scott Atwood -
The milk. boys have just opened a new bar. It’s called Camp 4 and located just west of Ossington along the south side of Dundas. But there’s no house music like usual milk. events, it’s an indie rock bar, so slap on your hipster jeans, oversized glasses and plaid shirt and drop by for a drink. Congratulations on the new place Felix and Gani!
Directions to Cherry Beach - Take Lakeshore Blvd West past Parliament, turn south on Cherry Street and follow it to the very end. Go east along the bike path past the soccer fields, past the windsurfing club, past the sailing clubs, until you see a massive derelict smokestack. Then cut through the forest towards the lake... you’ll hear the music.
Bring a picnic, bring a kite, bring a handy sweater, bring a dog (only nice dogs), bring your lover and a hammock.
And remember your reusable mug, and also one for a friend who forgot.
If the weather’s not so great give one of our mobiles a call for an update on what’s happening - Dave 416 550 2702 and Irving 416 902 1740.
See you down at the beach!
cheers,
David and Irving |
